Consistent with M.G.L., c.269 §17-19 Lighthouse School prohibits the use of hazing.
Hazing is any conduct or method of initiation into any student organization which
willfully or recklessly endangers the physical or mental health of any student or other
person.
All reports of, or concerns about, potential hazing will be thoroughly investigated.
Students determined to have organized or participated in hazing activities will be subject
to a range of disciplinary actions that may include suspension, termination, and legal
consequences.
Lighthouse School will discipline any staff person involved in the organization or
participation of hazing by invoking disciplinary actions of up to and including suspension
or termination of employment.

All full-time, secondary school-aged students will review the relevant Massachusetts
General Laws (MGL) and sign a form documenting their receipt and understanding of
these laws, and their commitment to refrain from hazing. Any student participating in
athletics will also be required to review the Massachusetts General Laws related to
hazing and sign an anti-hazing pledge form at the beginning of season for each sport in
which he or she participates.
