Family Involvement

At Lighthouse School, parents are an integral and important part of the treatment team. During the initial visit to Lighthouse where parents get a chance to see the program in action, much information is obtained from them which proves invaluable in helping staff to develop the Individualized Education Plan and plan an orientation program for the student’s entry into the Lighthouse culture. As time goes on, parents are encouraged to communicate with staff at Lighthouse through their Family Therapist to help assess the progress of the student and to ensure the consistency in programming and good communication between all parts of the treatment team. The Parent’s Association of Lighthouse School (PALS) is an organization where parents meet to share ideas and concerns, support the mission of Lighthouse School, and participate in school-wide events with families, students and staff.
