Council for American Private Education (CAPE) - 1994
This award is from the Blue Ribbon Schools Program which was co-sponsored by the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) and the U.S. Department of Education. Staff from Lighthouse School® traveled to Washington, DC to be part of a ceremony at The White House which recognized Lighthouse again as a national model for other schools seeking to provide high-quality education for their students.
Council for American Private Education (CAPE) - 1986
This award is from the Exemplary Private School Recognition Project which was co-sponsored by the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) and the U.S. Department of Education. It emanated from a selection process which involved over 6,000 schools located throughout the United States. These schools were evaluated and Lighthouse School was ultimately selected as one of only 267 models having high potential for national replication.
Accreditations National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children (NAPSEC) - 1996 The National Commission for the Accreditation of Special Education Services granted Lighthouse School accreditation for four years beginning in November of 1996 and noted in particular "the highly positive attitude of your staff toward working with children with special needs."
