The processes may vary, but usually this is what you can expect after you apply to Lighthouse School:
If we believe you may be a match for our team, we will contact you to discuss the opportunity. In this first phase, we will conduct a brief telephone interview and if we both agree to further explore your application, we will invite you in for an interview. In the second phase of the interviewing process, you may be invited in to spend time with students and staff in the homeroom setting. The day is typically 9:00am to 3:00pm and affords applicants the opportunity to personally experience a day at Lighthouse School. Finally, you may be invited to return to Lighthouse School for an interview with the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
Should a mutual decision be made that you will be joining Lighthouse School®, we will conduct a state mandated background investigation (CORI). This process will also include fingerprinting, as well as employment and educational verification. You will also be asked to have a Mantoux (TB test) administered (at Lighthouse School expense), which is a requirement of all staff.
When hired, you will be involved in a very comprehensive orientation training process of at least four weeks. This training will ensure that we devote the time necessary to quickly assimilate you positively into our culture and to provide you with the fundamental tools and training necessary to become a contributing member of the team. You will work closely with a "primary" staff person in addition to receiving hands-on training. This staff person will be there to support you throughout this period and beyond to help you become familiar with Lighthouse School practices and standards. Your training will include CPR, First Aid, Case Management, Communication, Crisis Intervention, and APEX® Methodology.™
Congratulations -- you will be joining a very special team providing very needed services for kids!
